How to Apply for a Master's Program with a Scholarship in Kazakhstan

Eligibility:

Individuals who have completed their bachelor's degree programs can apply for a master's program at universities in Kazakhstan.

Types of Master's Programs:

  • Free of charge through a state educational grant
  • On a paid basis

Important Information:

Kazakhstan citizens can only apply for a master's program with a scholarship once. A second master's degree will be on a paid basis.

For Foreign Nationals:

  • On a paid basis
  • Free of charge under international agreements

Application Deadlines:

Announcements about special programs are published 15 days before the start of the application process. Submission of applications and documents for master's programs takes place from July 10 to 30 at universities where master's training is conducted. The exact dates should be confirmed with the university's admissions office.

Required Documents for Application:

  1. Application addressed to the head of the university
  2. Copy of the identity document
  3. Copy of the bachelor's degree diploma
  4. Copy of the foreign language test certificate (if available)
  5. Document confirming employment and a personal record sheet (if there is work experience)
  6. List of scientific and methodological works (if available)
  7. Medical certificate in the form 086-U
  8. 6 photos sized 3x4 cm

Original documents must also be presented for verification when submitting the application.

Entrance Exam Procedure:

Entrance exams for master's programs and residency are held from August 10 to 20, with enrollment completed by August 25. Applicants must take two exams:

  • In a foreign language (English, German, or French)
  • In their specialty

Applicants with international language certificates are exempt from the foreign language exam.

Admission Process:

Admission is based on the decision of the admissions committee. Applicants with the highest scores on the entrance exams are enrolled for the scholarship:

  • For profile-oriented master's programs – at least 130 points, including at least 30 points in a foreign language
  • For scientific-pedagogical master's programs – at least 150 points
